Job summary

Helix Resources in Houma, LA is recruiting 2nd Class Marine Electricians for a major shipyard project. The ideal candidates have legitimate hands-on marine electrical experience and familiarity with shipyard electrical installation and termination work.

You will read vessel prints and wiring diagrams, pull and route marine cable, wire lighting circuits, switches and 3‑way circuits, terminate panels, and assist with equipment terminations while using a multimeter to verify voltage and continuity.

Qualifications

• Marine/vessel electrical experience required.
• Ability to read and understand electrical prints and wiring diagrams.
• Experience wiring lighting circuits, switches, and 3-way circuits.
• Experience with equipment and panel terminations.
• Basic understanding of AC and DC vessel electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Read vessel electrical prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Pull and route marine electrical cable.
• Identify circuits and cable numbers from prints.
• Wire and terminate switches.
• Wire lighting circuits.
• Wire 3-way switching circuits.
• Wire and terminate receptacles.
• Assist with equipment and electrical panel terminations.
• Work with basic AC and DC vessel electrical systems.
• Use a multimeter to verify voltage and continuity.
• Follow shipyard safety and quality requirements.
