Job summary

GMD Shipyard Corp. in New York seeks an experienced electrician to lead shipyard industrial electrical projects and production electrical work.

You will install, maintain, repair and replace marine electrical systems (AC/DC) and related electronics, study drawings, and ensure work complies with NEC and OSHA standards. Night and weekend shifts are required; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in electrical systems.
• Three to five years of electrical experience in marine or industrial settings.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
• Experience with electrical maintenance and repair on marine vessels is a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and replace marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronic systems for production and facility projects.
• Take corrective and proactive measures to maintain equipment availability.
• Provide reliable service to meet shipyard availability targets.
• Follow environmental and safety regulations and comply with US laws.
• Study drawings, specifications and maps to ensure NEC/OSHA compliant installation.
• Confer with supervisory representatives about existing or potential electrical projects.
