Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences; PE license desirable.
• Typically 4+ years of practical engineering design experience.
• Familiarity with maritime standards (ABS, IEEE, IEC) and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Completes products with supervision and technical oversight at key junctures in development
• When confronted with change, controls scope creep and communicates implications
• Identifies potential problems in own products and similar products by others
• Facilitates resolutions to problems or technical issues using industry methods
• Uses oral and written communication to create presentations, reports and external technical correspondence
• Participates in internal and external working groups and documents discussions and outcomes
• Provides technical leadership to teams on small-scope projects
• Mentors two or more Engineers and teaches discipline-specific skills
• Assists with implementation of department processes
• Locates current and applicable requirements (rules, regulations, contracts) for tasks
• Other responsibilities as assigned
