Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego is seeking an Electrical Designer to support shipboard electrical systems development and integration. You will create detailed electrical 3D models, wiring diagrams, cable routing plans, and equipment layouts for power distribution, lighting, control, and communication systems aboard vessels.

Proficiency with CAD tools such as AVEVA, Ship Constructor, SolidWorks, NX, 3D AutoCAD or Revit is required, along with knowledge of marine electrical standards (ABS,

Qualifications

• Bachelors of Science or Associates degree in CAD; 6–10 years of experience
• 4 years of shipbuilding experience can substitute for education
• Strong knowledge of PC and CAD applications
• Working knowledge of Aveva Unified Engineering products preferred

Responsibilities

• 3D model development for ship design and power distribution
• Create wiring diagrams and cable routing plans
• Prepare equipment layouts and documentation in line with maritime standards
• Coordinate with engineers and other disciplines to ensure accurate documentation
