Job summary

Trident Maritime Systems, located in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop and maintain electrical control systems for marine equipment. The role requires collaboration with product groups and the broader engineering department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 5-8 years of electrical design and controls experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic control systems.
  • Technical aptitude for complex electrical projects.
  • Desire marine industry experience (commercial or defense).
  • Ability to create interference control drawings, manufacturing drawings and arrangement/detailed drawings.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and availability for varied schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and components to meet specifications, focusing on economy, safety, reliability, quality and sustainability.
  • Provide concept and detail design, implementation, testing and handover support.
  • Possess the technical knowledge to project manage and multitask.
  • Collaborate with team leaders and management as careers progress.
  • Work in multi-disciplinary project teams and liaise with clients and contractors.
  • Identify customer requirements and design systems and products.
  • Read design specifications and technical drawings and research solutions.
  • Follow IEEE, ABS, Lloyd’s Register and other electrical/marine standards.
  • Record, analyze and interpret test data, and propose modifications as needed.
