Job summary

Trident Maritime Systems in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop and maintain electrical control systems for marine applications. You will provide concept and detail design, implementation, testing and handover support, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

The role requires 5–8 years of post‑college experience, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and willingness to work overtime. U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a drug screen are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 5–8 years of post‑college experience in electrical designs, layouts and controls.
  • Experience with one-line diagrams/schematics, sequence of operations, BOMs and network layouts.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic control systems and related software.
  • Desire marine industry experience (commercial or defense).
  • Ability to create manufacturing and detail drawings; overtime flexibility.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to pass drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain electrical control systems and components to required specifications with focus on safety, reliability and sustainability.
  • Provide concept and detail design, implementation, testing and handover support.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and mentors; manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with IEEE, ABS, Lloyd’s Register and other relevant standards.
  • Prepare documentation, write reports and present technical results.
