Job summary

Fincantieri Marine Systems North America in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for a 1st shift (Mon-Fri 7:30 AM–3:30 PM) to inspect, repair and overhaul marine diesel engines and related systems on commercial and defense vessels.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot, measure, and install engine components, read blueprints, maintain records, and comply with ISO/OSHA safety standards. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Journeyman/Technical or Associate's degree in diesel mechanics or equivalent
• 3 years diesel engine experience; marine ship-repair preferred
• DBIDS, valid driver's license, passport; ASE T2 preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and overhaul marine diesel engines and related systems
• Disassemble, inspect, measure, repair, and reassemble engines
• Perform engine timing, valve adjustments, injector replacement
• Identify wear or damage and determine repairs; keep records
