Job summary

Bodwé Group Companies is seeking a qualified Construction Inspector to support the Pier Mike recapitalization project at USCG Base Charleston. The role requires full-time on-site inspection, monitoring demolition and new pier construction, and enforcing contract drawings and specifications in a marine environment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in construction inspection, a PE or PMP/QA/QC certification, and valid travel credentials.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering can be used as alternative qualification if 10 years of experience is not met.
PE certification obtained within the last 10 years is acceptable as alternative qualification.
PMP or QA/QC certification earned within the last 10 years is acceptable.
Minimum 10 years of construction experience as a Construction Inspector, Contractor Superintendent, or Quality Control Manager.
Minimum 2 years of experience on Federal Government construction projects within the last 10 years.
At least 2 years of experience with waterfront construction projects, including concrete structures in marine environments.
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Real ID or Passport for travel.
Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Provide full-time construction inspection and on-site surveillance services for the Pier Mike recapitalization project.
Monitor demolition of the existing Pier Mike and construction of the new pier.
Review and interpret contract drawings and specs to support inspection activities.
Inspect waterfront construction work, including concrete structures in marine environments.
Observe and inspect site improvement activities related to underground utilities and stormwater management features.
Support oversight of design-build construction activities to ensure work meets project requirements.
Monitor dredging, bulkhead repairs, utility installations, storage areas, and parking lot improvements.
Work full-time on-site and be available for up to 10% additional hours as needed.
