Job summary

Nautique Boat Company seeks a Composites Product Engineer to ensure structural validity of all composite components, including fiberglass structures and testing for ISO/CE compliance. You will design specifications, generate models and BOMs, and coordinate with vendors throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities include validating manuals, supporting recalls, and testing laminate structures plus process updates for new models, with yearly material evaluations and industry-standard

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 3D CAD modeling experience required.
  • Experience in composites and composite structure design.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Define and design component specifications for composite structures from design through manufacturing completion.
  • Generate Engineering models, drawings, and Bills of Material for new designs.
  • Approve mechanical models and drawings for release.
  • Generate Engineering change notices as required.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of new product, programs, and strategies.
  • Ensure and acquire component and system compliance with industry standards.
  • Review and approve owner’s manuals for accurate and complete mechanical descriptions and information.
  • Evaluate and test new composite structures for ISO and CE compliance based upon industry equations for marine structural loading.
  • Assist with technical aspects of all Product recall campaigns.
  • Coordinate with vendors on new products and materials.
  • Assist production with integration of new model laminate structures and material updated to existing models.
  • Yearly testing of all new chemical and structural components, to include UV, patch ability, and flexural.
  • Generate all new laminate and core pattern files for the Zund fiberglass cutter and AXYZ router table.
  • Corporate representative in product liability litigation.
