Job summary

LBI is seeking a Manufacturing-Design Engineer to join our engineering and manufacturing team, supporting advanced composite and mechanical programs on the manufacturing floor and in design offices. You will translate designs into repeatable processes, supervise production staff, and develop manufacturing plans, job instructions, and tooling recommendations while collaborating with customers and suppliers.

This role focuses on marine composites and defense-related projects with strong emphasis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/mechatronic/ocean/civil/structural engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience with marine composites or defense applications is a plus.
• US only (work authorization) is assumed.

Responsibilities

• Utilize SolidWorks to create designs, shop drawings, BOM and specifications.
• Work with and supervise production staff to fabricate, modify and test prototypes.
• Coordinate transition to manufacturing, including development of manufacturing plans and job instructions.
• Write Job Instructions and monitor job hour performance milestones and deadlines.
• CNC programming setup using Mastercam, EnRoute, FlowJet, and WINMPM as required.
• Assist with quotations, bids and proposals.
• Provide customer service and engineering sales support.
