Job summary

Matrix New World Engineering, a part of True Environmental and its partner firms, seeks an Engineer Diver for its Marine and Coastal engineering practice in Florham Park and NYC offices. The successful candidate will support growth of the Marine Asset Management line through field inspections, reports, rehabilitation construction documents, and waterfront oversight in the NYC metro area.

The role requires 0–5 years of inspection/design experience, strong communication, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 0–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• ABET-accredited engineering degree from an ABET program.
• EIT certificate (Engineer in Training) or Engineer Intern.
• Current ADCI dive certification and safety certifications.
• OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR/AED, TWIC or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel and work outdoors in variable conditions.
• Strong math/analytical skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform waterfront inspections of marine and coastal infrastructure.
• Collect field data and document existing conditions with measurements and sketches.
• Develop detailed inspection reports tailored to client requirements.
• Support rehabilitation and new construction design documents.
• Assist with dive operations and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
