Job summary

Mississippi Department of Employment Security is seeking a skilled Outfitter to install parts and hardware on fiberglass and aluminum boats. You will use hand and power tools to fit seats, windshields and trim, and will mark positions from specifications.

Responsibilities include cutting, drilling, caulking and verifying workmanship, plus assisting with engines and hydraulics. A high school diploma and mechanical aptitude are required, with safety awareness and good communication essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be mechanically inclined and able to read measurements.
• Experience with hand and power tools preferred.
• Familiarity with shop tools and heavy equipment desired.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Installs parts, marine hardware, metal trim, seats and windshields on boats using hand and power tools.
• Locates and marks positions of hardware and seats according to specs using rulers or templates.
• Assists with installing engines, hydraulics and related marine components.
• Drills, cuts, and secures parts; applies caulking and mounts trim as required.
• Inspects boats for defects and reports findings.
