Job summary

Hawks Cay Resort in the Florida Keys seeks a marina dockhand to greet vessels, assist with docking, fuel vessels, and maintain docks and surroundings. You will support storm prep, safety procedures, and marina operations while providing excellent guest service.

The role requires physical work, outdoor conditions, and flexibility over weekends and holidays, with opportunities for professional growth within a premier resort environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous marina or dockhand experience preferred.
• Customer service, boating, or fuel-handling experience preferred.
• Ability to swim and work around the water.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and remain active for extended periods.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist vessels, helping captains dock and undock in challenging conditions.
• Connect water and electrical services and monitor dock lines and utilities.
• Fuel vessels safely and assist with supplies, water services, and battery charging.
• Maintain docks, equipment, grounds, and work areas to keep them clean and safe.
• Assist with marina maintenance projects and report safety issues.
• Support hurricane and storm preparation efforts as needed.
• Follow radio, fire, first aid, freeze protection, and oil spill procedures.
• Assist with retail inventories and live-bait procedures and laws.
• Support marina events and tournaments.
• Clean and maintain the fuel pier, marina store, equipment and surroundings; wash-downs.
• Notify supervisors when supplies run low.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Marina Supervisor or Director.
