Job summary

Guest Services is seeking a Boat Maintenance Mechanic to support marina operations, maintain and service the boat fleet, and execute dock and marina upkeep with attention to safety and quality control.

You will handle electrical, mechanical, carpentry and plumbing tasks across two marinas, with seasonal location shifts. The role requires strong problem solving, customer service, and ability to work with Coast Guard inspections and regulations.

Qualifications

• Partial High School education; High School Diploma/G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
• Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.
• Ability to recognize when a problem has occurred and communicate it to management.
• Ability to swim.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Candidate should have their own tools necessary to carry out these tasks
• Adequate computer skills to create spreadsheets, access email, and use engine diagnostic software. Will be responsible for creating and maintaining a boat maintenance schedule and checklists for all boats.
• Candidate must be willing to travel to other units if need be.
• Candidates must be personable and willing to work with the US Coast Guard during biannual haul-out inspection. Must comply with all Coast Guard regulations and inspector recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Assists with marina services, quality control, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
• Maintains and services boat fleet, marina and dock maintenance, boat refurbishing; including electrical, mechanical, carpentry and plumbing.
• Perform engine work: oil/filter changes, fuel filter changes, spark plug replacement, lower unit oil, and cooling system checks.
• Inspect and service steering, battery connections, and navigation/electrical systems.
• Inspect hulls, paint touch-ups, deck maintenance, and coast guard safety equipment checks.
• Pump out boats, handle sanitation and tank filling; maintain bottom paints and launch/haul schedules.
• Provide excellent guest service and direct issues to supervisor; maintain grounds keeping equipment and vehicles.
