Job summary

The Maricopa County Democratic Party is seeking temporary Field Organizers to help elect state and local positions on the ballot. You will recruit, train, and manage volunteers and support the county-wide organizing program under the Regional Political Director.

Ideal candidates will have campaign or community organizing experience, strong Google Workspace skills, and the ability to work weekends. Spanish language skills are preferred for outreach and events across the county.

Qualifications

• At least 1 election cycle (or 1 year) of organizing or outreach experience—campaigns, local groups, or customer service.
• Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers.
• Proficient with Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive).
• Strong organizational skills and eye for detail; can juggle tasks without dropping them.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently per field plan.

Responsibilities

• Develop a pipeline to source, recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
• Attend local events with candidates, county party, and organizations to recruit volunteers.
• Build a strong, supportive team culture and meet weekly metrics set by leadership.
• Must have reliable transportation and be available on weekends and evenings.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

The Maricopa County Democratic Party is seeking temporary Field Organizers to help elect state and local positions up and down the ballot. As a Field Organizer, you will play a critical role in expanding our field impact down the ballot and help protect the administration of our elections for the future. This position requires a strong ability to recruit, train, and manage volunteers and support the overall organizing program across the county. Field Organizer Responsibilities:

Develop a pipeline to source, recruit, train, and manage volunteers.

Remain accountable to metric goals set by the Political Directors and broader field plan.

Attend local events with candidates, county party, and organizations, and volunteers, where you will be responsible for building relationships with volunteers and recruiting.

Build a strong and supportive team culture.

Meet weekly metrics set by Leadership.

Must have reliable access to transportation.

Expected availability to regularly work weekends and evenings.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

At least 1 election cycle (or 1 year) of organizing or outreach experience—whether on political campaigns, in local community organizations, or in a customer service role.

Working knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive)

Experience in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers

Exceptional organizational skills and an eye for detail - can juggle tasks without letting anything fall through the cracks

Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.

Flexible, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset.

Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure.

Ability to work independently based on a strategic field plan.

Preferred Qualifications (Not required):

Experience in building attendance for events.

Working knowledge of VAN/Votebuilder, Mobilize, and other campaign technology platforms.

Familiarity with using social media platforms to recruit volunteers and build for events.
