Margaritaville at Sea is seeking an IT Manager to lead onboard IT operations across communications, servers, networks, POS, and guest services. You will coordinate with shoreside IT, ensure system reliability, and uphold security standards aboard the vessel.

The role requires leadership experience, a related degree, and strong knowledge of Linux, Windows environments, and Office 365. Onboard life includes crew accommodation, meals, and benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with shoreside IT for new projects and deployments.

• Administer Exchange Server/Office 365, email, and security.
• Oversee V-Sat communications and shipwide TV systems.
• Administer Fidelio PMS for check-in, security, and guest handling.
• Manage Micros POS systems, workstations, and printers.
• Maintain Wi-Fi mesh network and Cisco Wireless Controller.
• Troubleshoot wireless access points for optimal coverage.

As an IT Manager you will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and support of all onboard V-Sat communications, TV systems, computer systems, mobile devices, physical and virtual servers, networks, point-of-sale terminals, network equipment, and peripherals. This consists primarily of level 1, 2 and 3 (if applicable) support as well as system monitoring and troubleshooting. The IT Manager works closely with the shoreside IT department to ensure all onboard systems perform at optimum levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with shore side IT for new projects, deployment and implementation.
• IT Network Infrastructure - administer, manage and monitor the hardware and software resources, connectivity, communication and operations of the entire network.
• Physical and Virtual Servers - maintain and monitor the servers at all time. Protects data, software and hardware from failures.
• Domain Controller - administer, manage and monitor the servers, computers and users onboard.
• Exchange Server / Office 365 - administer and maintain exchange server, email addresses, and virus attacks. Help email users by providing instructions and best practices.
• V-Sat Communications (Telenor) - ensure efficient operations at all times. Monitor closely and the optimal performance of the ship.
• TV System - in-charge with the above deck equipment (ADE) and below deck equipment (BDE) including troubleshooting and repair of the equipment. Handle and control the TV broadcast onboard.
• Property Management System (Fidelio) - administer and manage the system from terminal check-in, security gangway and guest and crew handling and users support.
• Point of Sales (Micros) - administer and manage the server, workstations and users. Includes repair and troubleshooting of workstations and printer.
• Wi-Fi Mesh Network - administer and manage the Cisco Wireless Controller.
• Troubleshoot and repair wireless access points for optimal performance and coverage.

REQUIEREMENTS:

• Minimum 21 years old
• Relevant ship experience is preferred
• Good level of English language
• In addition to technical experience, IT managers are required to have at least a bachelor's degree education in IT, preferably with well-rounded major such as computer science, information technology or management information systems.
• Applicants must have at least five years' related experience in areas of user support within a medium-sized LAN; a thorough knowledge of computer systems including but not limited to Linux, MS Office, Windows Client and Server editions; and experience troubleshooting PC hardware, software applications, and network connectivity.
• Management or supervisory experience and a BS or higher in computer science, MIS, or related field is strongly preferred.
• Able to share and participate in corporate decision-making if needed.
• Able to execute decision-making properly to solve problems by thinking ahead and correct planning.
• Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation or internet resources.
