Job summary

The University of Pikeville's Marketing & Communications department seeks a MARCOM Student Assistant Level II to support photography, videography, social media content creation, and office duties. This role is ideal for creative students interested in digital media, storytelling, and communications.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 10–20 hours per week. Pay rate is $9.75/hour, with opportunities to gain hands-on experience across campus events, printing operations, and content development.

Qualifications

• Creative student with interest in digital media, storytelling and communications.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar programs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to learn and assist with office duties and events.
• Familiarity with social media concepts and basic content creation.

Responsibilities

• Help train and assist level 1 student workers.
• Greet guests at the front desk and answer questions.
• Conceptualize social media content and collaborate with level 1 staff.
• Operate and manage the university printer and track paper inventory.
• Finish printing tasks (binding, cutting, sorting, etc.).
• Provide general administrative assistance (data entry, package pickup, internet research).
• Assist staff with various projects and tasks.
• Maintain campus bulletin boards with postings and decor.
• Support MarComm events on campus.
• Maintain confidentiality and punctuality and dress appropriately for the work environment.
• Take on other tasks as needed.
