Job summary

University of Pikeville is seeking an entry-level MARCOM Student Media Assistant - Photography to support visual media efforts on campus. You will produce photos and videos covering events and campus life, while learning under the MarComm team.

Applicants should be freshmen to juniors, with a willingness to learn photography in a university setting. This is an in-person, part-time student position with the Administration Building workspace.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled and in good academic standing at UPIKE.
• Entry-level, student worker position requiring flexibility and willingness to learn.
• Prior photography or media experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Capture vibrant photos of student-sponsored activities and assist the supervisor at major events, including ceremonies and press conferences.
• Shoot stock photography of campus buildings and student life in varying light and settings.
• Collaborate with MarComm staff to pitch and support media projects with photo/video content.
• Assist with video production projects as needed.
• Assist with tagging and organizing archival footage for digital asset management.
• Commit to 3–5 designated in-office hours each week for batch-editing and mentorship.
• Deliver finished photos/videos to the supervisor for posting on university galleries.
