Job Overview
Security clearance required: DoD Secret. Location: Premont, TX. Hourly compensation: $37.69 per hour plus an additional $6.00 per hour health & welfare benefit. This is a service‑contract position with a non‑negotiable hourly rate. The role is onsite and requires a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government‑issued security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Perform systems level operation and monitoring of ROTHR/MARCAP transmitter site equipment.
- Perform organizational, preventative, and intermediate level maintenance on ROTHR transmitter equipment.
- Maintain components including Solid‑State High‑Powered‑Amplifiers (HPA), Power‑Amplifier‑Power Supplies (PAPS), Phased Array Antennae (Log Periodic HF), Digital Beam‑formers and Exciters, RF Hardware, Digital Hardware, microprocessor‑based controllers, minicomputers, microcomputers, and peripheral equipment.
- Resolve complex problems by interpreting manufacturer manuals and technical documents.
- Plan work sequence, select appropriate resources and test equipment, and apply systematic troubleshooting, overhaul, fault isolation, and repair procedures for major electronic systems.
- Support development projects by constructing experimental or prototype models, conducting tests or experiments, redesigning as necessary, and recording, evaluating, and reporting data findings.
- Participate in training provided by external technical or engineering resources.
- Engage frequently with engineering and other professionals within the ROTHR/MARCAP program during testing, data collection, and enhancement evolutions.
- Receive technical guidance and tasking from supervisors or higher‑level technicians; work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED), or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Completion of an Electronics or Electrical Engineering Technology program at a technical institute or a military technical school with a curriculum of at least six months.
- Minimum of three years of related experience.
- Ability to use test equipment and systematic procedures for troubleshooting, overhaul, fault isolation, and repair of major electronic systems comprising receiver and transmitter functions.
- Clean motor‑vehicle driving record to obtain authorization to drive company vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least one year of technician experience in assembly, overhaul, repair, modification, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of communications, radar, or digital electronics systems of similar complexity and magnitude to ROTHR.
- Previous or current security clearance.
