Job summary

The Center for Justice Innovation seeks a MAP Engagement Coordinator to support NeighborhoodStat through the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP) in NYC. You will recruit residents, organize meetings, and coordinate with city agencies to address community safety priorities.

Role requires a bachelor’s degree or 3 years in related work, strong facilitation, project management, and data interpretation skills. Full-time, on-site in Brooklyn with weekend/evening flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or minimum 3 years in community engagement/organizing.
• Passionate, skilled, and experienced in working with communities to promote health and safety.
• Strong logistics and project goal achievement in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple department leaders.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and manage a diverse resident team.
• Develop a comprehensive engagement plan with measurable outcomes.
• Attend in-person and virtual meetings and community events.
• Facilitate resident and stakeholder planning meetings.
• Plan and co-facilitate public meetings and action steps.
• Coordinate city agencies to respond to community needs.
• Track action steps and share meeting notes with partners.
