Job summary

Center for Justice Innovation in New York City seeks a Senior Design and Construction Project Manager to lead planning and implementation of NeighborhoodStat design and placekeeping projects, coordinating design consultants, vendors, funders, and community partners.

You will guide participatory design processes, develop action plans and budgets, supervise staff, and ensure milestones and deliverables across multiple projects, in collaboration with leadership and MAP stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 5 years of architecture, urban planning or design and communications experience.
• Experience managing design and construction projects in complex urban settings.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud; strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders including funders and community members.
• Wamiliarity with placemaking and action plan development is a plus.
• Willingness to travel locally as needed; bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct planning and implementation of design and construction projects, acting as project manager across multiple projects.
• Develop project tools with leadership and funders to ensure timely deliverables and budgets.
• Lead participatory design sessions with resident teams, creating facilitation guides and agendas.
• Supervise staff and external consultants; manage vendor selection and performance.
• Collaborate on ground-breaking placemaking projects reflecting stakeholder priorities.
• Support action plan scope development, submission, review and approval.
• Maintain engagement with funders and government partners; represent the Center in meetings.
