Job summary

Torc is seeking a Software Engineer to design and scale its mapping and routing data pipelines for commercial launch. You will translate customer needs into well-scoped features and collaborate across teams to ensure robust, scalable software delivery.

The role requires strong C++/Python skills, AWS experience, and the ability to operate in a data-driven, highly collaborative environment. Competitive compensation and benefits accompany this full-time position.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/Robotics/EE or related field with 4+ years experience OR MS with 0-3+ years experience.
• Strong knowledge of C++ and Python; Python preferred.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Step Functions, IAM, EventBridge, Glue, Athena).
• Experience building and operating high-throughput data pipelines.
• Ability to work with vague requirements and propose a technical path forward.
• Strong technical communication skills, written and verbal.
• Experience with GitHub and JIRA workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable mapping and routing data pipelines and services for launch.
• Translate vague problems into concrete technical designs and scoping.
• Collaborate with teams to translate needs into well-scoped features.
• Provide feedback in design and code reviews.
• Improve operations with testing, monitoring, and alerting.
• Participate in on-call rotation to support services health.
• Contribute to project planning and prioritization.
• Promote collaboration and data-driven decision making.
