Job summary

Torc Robotics is seeking a Software Engineer to implement and maintain Linux and cloud-based data management solutions. You will collaborate with engineers to deploy AWS-native ingestion, ETL, and storage for analytics, simulation, and ML training at scale.

You will join a distributed, remote-first team, contribute to data lake expansion, governance, and data quality, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliability of data-driven systems for autonomous vehicle software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a technical field with 4+ years of experience (or 0-3+ with a Master’s).
• Experience deploying, troubleshooting, monitoring and maintaining Linux systems.
• Experience building workloads in public cloud environments.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, vector stores, data warehousing and distributed data stores.
• Practical experience with Docker and containerization.
• Experience with workflow patterns using DAGs (Airflow, Step Functions).
• Strong CI/CD mindset and Infrastructure as Code practices.

Responsibilities

• Create robust and resilient data pipelines for high-volume data from vehicle fleets and simulations.
• Build and support scalable pipelines as part of Torc’s Data Factory for ML training at scale.
• Scale the data lake with distributed storage, data crawling, and discovery.
• Ensure data integrity with validation, versioning, provenance, and governance.
• Expand data lake through internal and external data sources.
• Contribute to design and delivery of cloud-based solutions.
• Collaborate with perception, planning, control, mapping, and testing teams.
• Support on-call rotation to maintain deployed systems.
