Job summary

BAMSI in Canton, MA seeks a Residential Counselor MAP to provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments, fostering daily living skills and community integration. You will teach ADLs, implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance, and transport residents to appointments and activities.

You bring a high school diploma/GED, MAP certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months), a valid driver’s license, and strong English communication

Qualifications

• MAP certification required or willingness to obtain within 3 months
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility
• Strong communication skills in English
• Compassion and commitment to trauma-informed care
• Bonus: multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese)

Responsibilities

• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation
