Job summary

BAMSI is a Brockton, MA-based nonprofit serving children, families, individuals, and seniors. The Residential Counselor - MAP role supports adults in group living environments, promoting daily living skills and community integration.

The position emphasizes MAP certification, strong communication, and trauma-informed care, with a 30-hour schedule (Sun/Mon/Tue, 11pm-9am) and weekend differential. BAMSI offers extensive benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• MAP certification is required; willing to complete employer-provided training if not current.
• High school diploma or GED required; mental health experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to assist with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE).
• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
