Talis Group’s client is seeking a Production and Supervisor Trainer to lead employee training and development across three shifts in a food manufacturing setting.

You will work hands-on with frontline leaders to validate competency, standardize training, and drive improvements in safety, quality, and performance. This role sits within a collaborative HR team, focusing on onboarding, coaching, and recorder-keeping for compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience applying adult learning principles to frontline training.
• Experience designing and delivering on-the-job training for frontline teams.
• Knowledge of GMPs, food safety and Lean/continuous improvement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new-hire onboarding and cross-training across three shifts.
• Partner with supervisors to strengthen on-the-job training and employee development.
• Validate competency and ensure compliance with procedures and safety standards.
• Develop and reinforce training in GMPs, food safety, safety, and manufacturing technology.
• Maintain training records, qualification matrices, and training documentation.
• Identify gaps in work instructions and training processes and coordinate updates.
• Promote consistent training methods and qualification standards across shifts.
• Support HR initiatives including onboarding, training administration, and development.

Highlight Duties

• Coordinate new‑hire onboarding, cross‑training, retraining, and employee qualification programs.
• Partner with supervisors to strengthen on‑the‑job training and employee development.
• Observe employees performing job duties to validate competency and compliance with established procedures, food safety, quality, and safety standards.
• Develop and reinforce training in GMPs, food safety, workplace safety, manufacturing technology, and Lean/continuous improvement.
• Maintain training records, qualification matrices, and compliance documentation.
• Identify gaps in work instructions and training processes; coordinate updates and improvements with department leaders.
• Promote consistent training methods and qualification standards across all three shifts.
• Support HR initiatives, including recruiting, onboarding, training administration, and employee development.

Highlight Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, Organizational Leadership, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on training experience in manufacturing; food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience training, coaching, or developing employees in manufacturing, warehousing, or operations.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and effective on‑the‑job training methods.
• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn HR and training systems.
• Ability to build credibility with frontline employees and supervisors.
• English proficiency required; Spanish highly desirable.
• Willingness to obtain relevant training certifications after hire, if not already held.
• Preferred: Experience maintaining audit‑ready training records or developing work instructions.
