What You’ll Do

Your mechanical skills and experience with metal cutting machines, sharpening tools, and reading calipers and micrometers are essential. Responsibilities include:

  1. Sharpening machine tooling
  2. Issuing tools and equipment, recording issues and returns
  3. Inventory control, including filing, indexing, and updating records
  4. Using the Kardex lift for inventory management
  5. Inspecting tools and equipment for proper operation
  6. Writing requisitions for repairs or replacements
  7. Tracking tools sent to vendors for repair
  8. Performing inventory and preventive maintenance tasks
  9. General cleanup and clerical work related to the tool crib
  10. Creating purchase orders and managing tooling logistics
  11. Supporting machine shop vending machines and managing tooling across work areas
  12. Understanding safe handling and operation of tools and grinders
  13. Learning and using the company ERP and tool management systems
  14. Performing basic data entry and problem-solving
  15. Learning to set up and issue machine tooling with manual and CNC machines
  16. Using the Zoller tool pre-setter and software
Your Experiences & Skills
  1. Previous lead or supervisory experience is a plus
  2. 3-5 years of experience with industrial or machine shop tooling; education may substitute experience
  3. Knowledge of machine shop and mechanical maintenance tools
  4. CNC experience, tool setup, and presetting are advantageous
  5. Computer literacy and good communication skills
  6. Ability to read micrometers, calipers, blueprints, and schematics
  7. Ability to obtain a forklift license
