Job summary

Amazon is seeking technicians for Amazon Leo satellite production in Kirkland, WA. The role focuses on assembling and testing LRUs, avionics, and complex aerospace components while following strict safety and process procedures.

You will read engineering docs, maintain test equipment, and assist in calibrations. Experience with high-traceability manufacturing, hand tools, and test methods is preferred, with a readiness for overtime and shift work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year in high traceability manufacturing env. or relevant trade school certification.
• 1+ year using hand tools and precision measuring instruments (Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches).
• 1+ year working with test tools/methods that validate the system.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and working from engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test with emphasis to detail LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds
• Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory
• Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables
• Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance
• Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations
• Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated
• Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems
• Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients
• Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures

Key job responsibilities

Additional Requirements

• Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift time: Sun-Wed 6am-4:30pm
• Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
• Able to lift up to 25lbs unassisted

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma
• 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
• 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
• 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
• Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with environmental testing - vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, etc.
• Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
• CFOT certification or equivalent experience
• Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
• ASE certification or equivalent experience
• Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
• Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
• Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
• Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
