Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC - M90 is seeking technicians to support full-scale production of satellite hardware in Washington state. You will assemble and test LRUs and aerospace components, reading engineering drawings and following procedures to ensure quality, safety, and throughput on high-reliability builds.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, hands‑on tool experience, and familiarity with precision measurement instruments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification.
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches).
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system.
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds.
  • Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, multimeters, optical inspection devices, micrometers and calipers.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
  • Run functional and environmental testing on units.
  • Use computer software programs for conducting tests.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to develop and document activities, including continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient, safe and effective work environment

Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Its mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world, and we’ve designed the system with the capacity, flexibility, and performance to serve a wide range of customers, from individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

Export Control Requirement

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines.

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50 / hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. This information is provided per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on market location.

Additional Requirements
  • Willing to work 4 10 hour days Sun-Wed OR Wed-Sat
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed. Shift will vary, depending on program needs.
  • Flexible working/commuting in between site locations Redmond, WA and Kirkland, WA
  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassisted
Basic Qualifications
  • high school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications
  • Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
  • CFOT certification or equivalent experience
  • Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
  • ASE certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
