Plug Power is seeking a Manager of Manufacturing & Test Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team supporting production operations. You will drive performance, development, and technical leadership across manufacturing and test activities, ensuring rapid on-floor engineering support.

The role collaborates with Production, R&D, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Quality to improve quality, throughput, and cost, while managing budgets and production test assets. Exempt, salaried position.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or STEM-related discipline.
• 7+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Minimum 3 years directly managing engineers/technicians as a formal people leader.
• Hands-on experience with production test systems, including test stand/fixture development and data acquisition.
• Experience with electronics drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and process documentation.
• Experience applying structured problem‑solving methods (8D, 5-Why, DMAIC).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for leadership presentations.

Responsabilités

• Lead and mentor a team of test and manufacturing engineers and technicians; oversee onboarding and development.
• Own the engineering ticketing system with clear response, backlog tracking, and reporting.
• Align engineering priorities with production schedules and floor constraints; define KPIs.
• Manage operating and capital budgets for process and test engineering functions.
• Develop and maintain production test assets and ensure test coverage and calibration.
• Drive standardization of test platforms across product lines and provide direction for LabVIEW and Python tools.
• Oversee external vendors for fixtures and programs; drive corrective actions from data insights.
• Maintain manufacturing process documentation and ensure ERP routings and BOM accuracy.
• Conduct time studies, labor standards, line balancing, capacity analysis; lead tooling design and procurement.
• Own control plans, PFMEAs, JHAs; drive Lean, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.
