Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Manufacturing Software Test Engineer (MSTE) to lead strategy and continuous improvement of Production Test Systems across vehicle assembly operations. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, IT and suppliers to ensure test systems are reliable, validated, and aligned with quality and production goals.

The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, E-FTQ improvement, and safe, efficient testing in a primarily first shift environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive electrical systems, diagnostics, or related technologies.
• ASE Certification preferred.
• Familiarity with GM Manufacturing System (GMS) principles and CI methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Production Test System strategies to support vehicle quality and E-FTQ goals.
• Ensure test systems are production-ready and validated for new launch and steady-state operations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve test-related issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee test software changes, content governance, and compliance with manufacturing and quality requirements.
• Analyze test data to identify trends and reduce false failures.
