Job summary

General Motors in Kansas City is seeking a Manufacturing Software Test Engineer (MSTE) to lead the strategy, implementation, and continuous improvement of production test systems across vehicle assembly operations.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, IT, Maintenance and supplier partners to ensure testing systems are reliable, effective, and aligned with quality and production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required.
• Experience with vehicle electrical diagnostics is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision making.
• Ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
• Willingness to work first shift with off-shift support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage production test system strategies to support quality.
• Ensure test systems are validated and ready for launches.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, IT and maintenance.
• Analyze test data to identify trends and improve FTQ.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Support training and standardization for plant teams.
