Job summary

Skydio is seeking a hands-on technical engineer for the manufacturing team to bridge manufacturing and engineering. You will own end-to-end test readiness, design in-house or partner test hardware, and leverage MES data to drive continuous improvement in yield and efficiency.

The role requires deep HW/SW design understanding, collaboration across hardware, software and operations, and a passion for scalable automation in a fast-growing hardware company.

Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with 5+ years focused on NPI test development.
• Hands-on coding in Python for test automation and process tooling.
• Ability to define testing framework/strategy for new products and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Demonstrated root cause and failure analysis for test/equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end manufacturing test readiness for an entire product line.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product development, manufacturing operations, and software to define test requirements.
• Design and implement new test equipment to ensure scalable, reliable manufacturing.
• Lead investigations to resolve production issues using MES data to determine root cause.
• Maintain high software quality via code reviews and hardware-in-loop CI.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or streamline processes for speed, reliability, and scalability.
