Manufacturing Test Engineer – Battery Systems

Job summary

Base is seeking a Test Engineer to develop, deploy and improve automated manufacturing test systems used in the production of battery backup solutions. You will ensure equipment meets world-class reliability and support the success of our manufacturing programs.

You’ll work cross-functionally with design, operations and suppliers to build scalable test solutions, analyze data, and drive continuous improvements. This is a hands-on, in-person role that thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electrical test systems design.
• Experience with diverse test/automation systems and production sensors.
• Hands-on end-of-line and functional test design.
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows.
• Knowledge of grid simulators, power manipulation, and inverter operations.
• Ability to read code (TestStand, LabVIEW, Python, Golang, C/C++).
• Experience with CAN bus and trace interpretation.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley/Siemens).
• Strong data summarization for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead uptime, cycle time and FPY improvements on manufacturing test equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet/exceed expectations.
• Perform preemptive data analysis and VOC discussions to address challenges.
• Understand engineering principles and serve as a contact for design and operations.
• Build and validate test equipment, deploy to production lines, verify documentation.
• Provide ongoing troubleshooting support after deployment.
• Support equipment troubleshooting and qualification during development and ramp-up.
