Job description

Now Hiring: Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer
Location: Tempe, AZ – Onsite
Contract: 1 Year
Travel: Infrequent travel to Lafayette, CO (approximately 1–2 times during the contract)

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Test Engineer to support the Acute Care Monitoring (ACM) business unit, specifically the INVOS 4WL Neo/Ped sensors.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing manufacturing test systems and applications, along with expertise in LabVIEW, TestStand, test instrumentation, measurement systems, and test methodology development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing testing methods and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain test applications using LabVIEW and TestStand.
  • Integrate test instruments and measurement systems for manufacturing environments.
  • Define manufacturing test requirements, methodologies, limits, and validation strategies.
  • Develop and execute Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gauge R&R, and uncertainty analysis.
  • Establish test limits, guard bands, and measurement strategies.
  • Develop URS/SRS requirements and support verification and validation activities.
  • Analyze measurement variation, repeatability, reproducibility, and manufacturing yield.
  • Translate R&D laboratory measurement methods into robust, production-ready manufacturing test solutions.
  • Collect and analyze test data and identify improvements to equipment, procedures, and manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, product engineering, and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Technical Background
  • LED emitter characterization and optical measurement systems
  • Spectroscopy and spectrometer integration
  • Optical sensors and photonics-based measurement systems
  • Signal processing and measurement-system development
  • Understanding of factors affecting optical measurements, including:
  • Temperature
  • Drive current
  • Fixturing
  • Alignment
  • Environmental conditions
  • Statistical analysis of measurement variation and yield performance
Qualifications
  • Electrical Engineering (EE/ECE/EET) preferred
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong manufacturing test engineering and application development experience
  • Experience with LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB, and test instrumentation
  • Experience developing manufacturing test requirements and methodologies
Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an engineer who can bridge the gap between R&D measurement concepts and production-ready manufacturing test systems.

Direct optical/photonics experience is highly valuable, but strong Manufacturing Test/Application Engineers with measurement-system development experience may also be considered.
