Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise in Puerto Rico is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Software Test Development Engineer to design, develop, and support manufacturing test automation solutions for networking products.

The role requires hands-on Python and Perl, Linux expertise, and the ability to build scalable test frameworks while collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable new products and improve production readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 4–6+ years of professional experience in manufacturing test automation or related software/test infrastructure.
• Strong Python and/or Perl programming skills.
• Experience in Linux environments.
• Ability to design scalable, reusable automation frameworks.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deliver, and maintain manufacturing test automation frameworks, tools, and scripts.
• Develop robust automation solutions using Python and Perl.
• Architect test automation with focus on reliability and scalability.
• Define test requirements and coverage; improve test effectiveness.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain production test scripts and tools.
• Troubleshoot complex software, test, and manufacturing issues.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices.
• Develop tools for test data collection, analysis, monitoring and reporting.
• Support NPI programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready test solutions.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environment.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for test quality and manufacturing scalability.
