Job summary
BAE Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Technician in Phoenix, AZ to support the development and production of military soft goods like upholstery, cushions, and parachutes. You will work on-site and participate in design, tooling, and production planning to meet quality and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities include training leads on industrial sewing equipment, reading engineering drawings, establishing time standards, and programming fabric cutters/lasers/CAD for templates.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience
- Sewing knowledge and experience with industrial sewing machines
- Military standards for sewing materials
- Experience with CAD software for patterns/templates
Responsibilities
- Assist in design and development of aircraft and military seating upholstery and cushions
- Train Production department leads in operation of sewing machines
- Establish time standards for production
- Develop flat patterns and templates for soft goods
- Collaborate with Quality to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction
- Read and interpret engineering drawings related to sewing
- Develop processes for cutting and bonding polyurethane foams
- Program fabric cutters and sewing machines
