Job summary

DRG's Fabrication and Upholstery Technician produces, repairs, and modifies aircraft textile components, including seatbelts, restraints and cushions. This role requires experience sewing military aircraft components and the ability to interpret military maintenance publications and engineering drawings to fabricate parts to exact specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Military experience sewing or fabricating aircraft upholstery preferred.
• Proficiency with industrial sewing machines and aircraft-grade fabrics, webbing, and hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and military maintenance publications.
• Current valid U.S. Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair, and modify aircraft upholstery components such as seatbelts, harnesses, restraints, cushions, and related assemblies.
• Read, interpret, and apply military maintenance publications, technical orders, and engineering drawings.
• Create new components directly from drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Safely and efficiently operate industrial sewing machines and textile fabrication equipment.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure all fabricated items meet design specifications and durability requirements.
• Record all completed work and maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel to clarify requirements and ensure proper fit and function of fabricated parts.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
• Other duties as identified and assigned.
