Job summary

TE Connectivity in Harrisburg/Middletown, PA, is seeking a Manufacturing Technician Co-op to gain hands-on experience with prototype dies, tooling and assembly under supervision in the EPICenter. You will learn safety practices, SOPs, and basic CNC operations while supporting engineering concepts and sample production.

This 1st shift co-op offers exposure to a global manufacturing culture, with training from qualified technicians and opportunities to use measurement tools and basic programming

Qualifications

• Follow safety training and SOPs before operating any machines.
• Assist with basic CNC programming and operation in a learning capacity.
• Assist with basic tool and die making and inspection processes.

Responsibilities

• Learn safety and operating procedures for production equipment.
• Assist with CNC programming and machine operation.
• Support tool and die making and tooling activities under supervision.
• Learn to use inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauging tools) and basic measurement devices.

This is a 1st shift position in the TE Connectivity EPICenter.

The Co-op technician will work with and be trained by qualified EPICenter technicians to perform various machining, fitting and assembly operations to construct prototype dies, molds, assembly tooling, gauges, and other tools to prove out engineering concepts and produce sample products. Complete all necessary safety training, read and understand all applicable standard operating procedures prior to operating any machines under the presence and guidance of a qualified technician/supervisor.

• Learn basic safety and operating procedures on some of the following:
• Basic Programing and operating CNC machines
• Basic Tool and Die making
• Able to use inspection equipment such as, but not limited to calipers, micrometers, pin gages, gage blocks or vision systems
  • vertical milling machine
  • lathe
  • surface grinder
  • horizontal and vertical band saw
  • water jet
  • inspection/vision system
  • hand tools such as but not limited to hand files, Allen wrenches, pliers, hammers screw drivers, box wrenches.
  • Corded or battery powered drills or cutting tools.
  • Basic computer skills: email, Word, Excel, time recording

Compensation

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $15.00 – 20.91/Hour (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
