Job summary

Newell Brands is seeking a Quality Assurance professional in Indiana to ensure production meets specifications and to support process improvements on the plant floor.

Primary Purpose of Position:

Responsible for duties related to assurance of quality production and adherence to standard specifications.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Establishes and implements test and control procedures.
  • Performs periodic product quality test on product lines to ensure specification parameters are held.
  • Assists in new product design or product improvements. Updates and implements product specifications.
  • Provides Quality Assurance personnel with data needed to analyze process flow.
  • Reviews quality control reports and charts. Initiates action when product quality fails to meet standards.
  • Recommends changes in production regarding quality and productivity.
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
  • Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education

High School Diploma or GED

Experience/Knowledge

Comprehensive knowledge of functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating and directing.

Three to five years of experience in production or assembly, and quality control. (Preferred but not mandatory)

Must be proficient in using MS Outlook and MS OFFICE software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate degree in a requisite field preferred but not mandatory.

TECHNICAL ROLE COMPETENCIES:

Ability to work without direct supervision.

Interpersonal skills to work effectively with individuals both internally and externally to Jarden Home Brands.

The ability to analyze problems, make independent judgments to initiate corrective action or resolution and report results as required.

Ability to understand function of inspection system and to use precision measuring tools. Attention to detail and collection of data.

Ability to prioritize projects and the flexibility to deal with interruptions and reprioritize as needed.

Able to maintain composure under stressful situations.

Understanding of the mechanical workings of a variety of production machinery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Normal office environment, time at computer, telephone, and various office machines.

A portion of each day is spent on the non-air-conditioned plant floor interacting with the hourly & salaried employees.

Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.

Typical factory environment with concrete floors and moving equipment.
