Job summary

Plastipak in Alsip, IL is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to operate extrusion and blow-molding lines, producing high-quality plastic containers for leading consumer brands.

You will monitor equipment, adjust settings, perform preventative maintenance, and conduct quality checks to ensure bottles meet specifications in a clean, controlled environment. Growth within Plastipak is encouraged through internal promotions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience with high-volume equipment.
• Experience with extrusion or blow molding equipment preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems on the floor.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion and blow-molding equipment in a clean, climate-controlled environment.
• Monitor and adjust machine settings (heat, cooling, hydraulic pressure) to ensure quality bottles.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.
• Execute quality checks for bottle weights and dimensions to match specs.
• Collaborate with team to identify safety, reliability, and scrap-reduction opportunities.

As a Manufacturing Technician, You Will:

• Operate a variety of top-of-the-line extrusion & blow-molding manufacturing equipment in a clean, safe & climate-controlled environment
• Monitor equipment, making adjustments to settings (heat control, water cooling temperatures, hydraulic pressure, etc.) to produce high-quality rigid plastic containers
• Troubleshoot equipment & perform routine preventative maintenance
• Assure Plastipak customer requirements are met by performing quality checks for specifications, such as bottle weights & dimensions
• Join with your team to identify continuous improvement opportunities focused on safety, reliability, quality & scrap reduction

This Is A Great Fit If You Have:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing environment working with equipment used for high-volume production
• Working knowledge of extrusion or blow molding equipment is preferred
• Ability to troubleshoot & problem solve

Pay & Shift

$20.00/hr - $22.00/hr (Depending on experience)

• 3rd: 11:50p-8:00am ($1 shift differential)
