Job summary

Wells Vehicle Electronics is seeking a hands-on technician to lead small teams in an electromechanical manufacturing environment. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems and overseeing assembly from start to finish.

You will monitor PLC and robotic programs, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure tooling and programs are applied to new product setups while supporting operators and engineering to resolve issues.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Electromechanical Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to lead teams of 2–5 members.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures in mechanical, pneumatic and electronics systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet project deadlines.

Job description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of equipment, setup and changeovers, and training of AMT and TNT technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the assembly process from start to finish.
  • Understand and monitor PLC and Robotic programs.
  • Equipment troubleshooting and repair.
  • Report production statistics such as finished goods, scrap, productivity, etc.
  • Order supplies and equipment when needed, maintain spare parts inventory
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Ensure proper tooling and computer programs are applied to new product setups.
  • Support production operators and Engineering to resolve production issues.
  • Participate in process improvement activities.
  • Other activities as assigned.

Essential Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • Associates degree in Electromechanical Technology or Automated Manufacturing Systems; An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to lead teams effectively - typically team of 2-5 members
  • Ability to diagnose equipment failures and repair mechanical, pneumatic and electronics systems
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and able to consistently meet project deadlines

Equipment Used:

  • Computer, telephone, hand tools, and production equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment/Clothing Required (PPE):

  • Safety glasses with attached side shields; ESD smock and grounding equipment
  • Heat resistant and/or cut resistant gloves – based on workstation
  • Disposal gloves/finger cots as required
