Job Description

Under moderate supervision and working from written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings and test procedures, the technician will position, build, test, repair, and modify mechanical and electronic components and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Devises, fabricates, and assembles mechanical/electromechanical and electronic components for products like industrial equipment, machinery, power equipment, and measuring instruments. May install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair products or perform routine maintenance.
• Coordinates and participates in the final assembly of units or systems, connecting valves, pumps, controls, cabling, tubing, power sources, and instruments.
• Activates controls to apply electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical power.
• Reviews project instructions and drawings to determine test specifications, procedures, and objectives. Identifies technical problems and potential solutions.
• Sets up and conducts tests on complete units and components under various conditions to evaluate performance and reliability.
• Analyzes test results, makes modifications, rebuilds, or adjusts equipment to meet specifications.
• Records test procedures, results, data, and recommends changes to products or testing methods.

Requirements

High school diploma with vocational or technical training, and 2-5 years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
