Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in Billerica, MA, is seeking a technically skilled technician to perform system level build, test, and process support for the Teledyne Ranger HDC-MR camera systems across production stages.

You will conduct functional and optical testing, troubleshoot sub-assemblies, maintain test fixtures, and collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet quality and schedule goals in a fast-paced high-tech manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• AS degree in electronics or technical equivalent with 3+ years related technical experience in high-tech manufacturing.
• Electrical, mechanical, optical alignment testing, IR testing experience a plus.
• Troubleshooting skills and proficiency with test/ alignment equipment setup.
• Proficiency with Windows-based Office apps and test data systems for instructions, data, traceability, reporting.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to technical details.
• Clear communication and teamwork ability.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Technical build, test, and process of Teledyne Ranger HDC-MR camera systems in support of all phases of production.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform system level functional and optical performance testing and troubleshooting on a variety of challenging surveillance/defense sub‑assemblies and finished end‑product camera systems.

• Test camera systems and critical sub‑assembly components in accordance to manufacturing test specifications, (test instructions, test data sheets, functional ATP’s, optical alignment performance criteria and system discrepancy reporting).

• Interface with production team and technical support staff to maintain manufacturing quality and efficiency while actively participating in day‑to‑day manufacturing goals.

• Inspect and verify all daily work to ensure it is performed accurately and efficiently, according to all quality performance specifications.

• Interface with technical team to ensure all manufacturing test methods are standardized and documented to the latest versions.

• Support the maintenance of test fixtures and test equipment.

• As directed, provide support in test process improvement projects.

Job Qualifications

• AS degree in electronics or technical equivalent with 3+ years related technical experience within a high‑tech manufacturing environment.

• Technical versatility: electrical, mechanical, optical alignment testing, IR testing experience a plus.

• Troubleshooting skills and proficiency with set up and usage of test and alignment equipment.

• Proficiency in use of windows‑based Office applications, optical test SFW and MES SFW for accessing digital work instructions, test data collection, traceability, reporting and communication.

• Practical problem‑solving skills.

• Attention to technical details.

• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

• Collaboration, teamwork, and ability to contribute independently.

Salary Range

$44,500.00-$59,300.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
