Job summary

Manpower is seeking Manufacturing Technicians to join our Santa Clara team. The role focuses on handling pods containing masks and introducing them to production as the first wafer process step, while maintaining tools to ensure continuous production.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, tool setup, WIP monitoring, and coordination with engineers. This role requires the ability to work 12-hour days or nights in a cleanroom setting and to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred.
  • Proactive safety-first mindset and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate Windows-based computers and basic data entry.
  • Must provide valid driver’s license.
  • English reading/writing/speaking at a high school level.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Daily PM support, clean tool tops and loadports, and maintain the work area.
  • Verify tool operation status throughout the shift.
  • Manage WIP priorities and monitor during shift across multiple tools.
  • Report tool errors to module team and escalate as needed.
  • Handle material introductions to toolsets and stock lots/pods.
  • Package and ship product material and assist with consumables inventory.

Job Title: Manufacturing Technician
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Position Type: Full-Time
Pay Rate: $27.00/hr. for day shift, $31.35/hr. for night shift
Shifts: 12 hour days and 12 hour shifts nights

Job Description

We are seeking motivated Manufacturing Technicians to join our team. The primary responsibilities in this department are handling pods that hold these masks and introduce them to production as the first step in the wafer process and maintaining the tools that process these masks is crucial to ensure production continues to run seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Daily PM (Preventative Maintenance) support, clean tool tops, tool loadports, and surrounding work area.
  • Verify status of tool operation throughout the shift.
  • Confirm WIP (Work in Progress) priorities.
  • Process, set up, and monitor WIP during work shift on multiple tools (number oftoolsets depends on module).
  • Report and escalte tool errors/failures to module team.
  • Acknowledge, respond, and execute Level 1 operations on assigned toolsets asaccording to written specifications.
  • Introduce product material to toolsets or store lots/pods on a rack or stocker
  • Package and ship product material.
  • Occasionally work with chemicals like Isopropyl Alcohol and Acetone.
  • Monitor consumables and order inventory as needed during shift.
  • Procuring consumables from vendor store for work area.
  • Search dispatch for WIP status.
  • Work with engineers to share tool availability development work.
  • Willing to work in a team setting with the expectation to train others.
Physical Requirements
  • Technicians must be able to work in a cleanroom environment up to 90% of shift while wearing polyester suit (bunny suit) that consists of a hood, gown, boots, latex/nitrile gloves, and safety glasses. In addition, you may don some additional PPE depending on job tasks (ex: chemical resistant PPE and bump cap)
  • Must be willing and able to work 12 hour shift not including lunch for 3-4 days a week.
  • Wear closed-toed shoes for the duration of shift.
  • Walk up to 3-5 miles at a normal pace and stand consistently for up to 9 hours within a shift.
  • Frequently carry, grasp, lift, and lower a small pod (8.5\"x9.5\"x2\") of up to 5lbs between the range of knees to shoulder height.
  • Occasional ascending and descending stairs.
  • Occasional sitting, bending, and twisting.
  • Occasional kneeling.
  • Technicians must be able to lift and transport material up to 25lbs.
  • Technicians must be able to push a cart with a push force of up to 50lbs for a distance of at least 500m.
  • Technicians must be able to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Technicians must follow, comprehend, and complete job tasks with verbal and written instructions.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to operate a Microsoft Windows based computer with experience using Microsoft Word and Excel, and internet browsers to input data and take computer-based training.
  • Have a proactive safety-first mindset.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Basic computer fluency.
  • Must be able to provide proof of a high school diploma or GED or your highest-level degree.
  • Associates degree or Bachelors degree or higher is preferred, but not required.
  • Must provide valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently at a high school level
