Job summary

OPW, based onsite in Elon assembly facility, seeks a Team Lead to direct a diverse production team ensuring efficient, high-quality output. You will monitor progress, train staff, and drive production goals with a strong emphasis on safety and process improvements.

The role requires experience leading assembly teams, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to changes while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• Must demonstrate integrity in all aspects of performance.
• Ability to perform work in a safe manner.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
• High attention-to-detail, including the ability to accurately follow instructions and execute production.
• Ability to manage a diverse group of people.
• At least 1-3 years of leadership experience as a team lead or a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety toolbox talks, safety meetings, and Kaizen events.
• Perform in-process layered audits and ensure procedures are followed and documented.
• Maintain LDM boards with data, owners, and actions.
• Update hour by hour boards to show team performance and work order status.
• Review and execute work-center schedules for on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to optimize machine uptime.
• Assign daily tasks to operators.
• Manage rework and scrap processes.
• Maintain inventory data for scrap, excess, etc.
• Maintain FIFO and WIP lanes.
• Lead Kaizen events to eliminate waste and increase productivity.
• Collaborate with training to develop team members.
