Job summary

Sechan Electronics, Inc. in Pennsylvania is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee the assigned production area and team, set priorities, monitor quality and efficiency, and report on daily manufacturing activities.

You will develop daily work plans, coordinate with resources to move products through assembly, ensure Lean practices and 5S, train and mentor staff, and provide timely communication when obstacles arise.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
• Physical ability to work in production up to 9 hours a day and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Develop daily work priorities and assign tasks to meet priorities and deadlines.
• Coordinate with resources to move products through the assembly process.
• Provide timely communication when obstacles delay operations.
• Use visual boards and direct communication to manage workflow.
• Attend production meetings to align with company and customer needs.
• Oversee first piece process to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Manage employee scheduling for equitable workload distribution.
• Ensure staff are trained and cross-trained with proper training records.
• Maintain Lean and 5S practices in the assembly area.
• Mentor employees to grow into skilled operators.
• Maintain data and reports on manufacturing cycles, staffing, quality metrics, and improvements.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures.
• Provide feedback and coaching to staff.
• Staffing for area including hiring, training, and discipline as needed.
