Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation in South Carolina is seeking a Team Lead to coordinate manufacturing operations at the AO Smith McBee facility. You will lead a crew, drive safety, quality, and delivery metrics, and mentor operators across shifts.

You will train teams, interpret drawings and BOMs, support lean manufacturing and continuous improvements, and collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance to sustain high performance.

Qualifications

• Must have experience leading manufacturing teams in a production environment.
• Strong safety mindset and track record of improving metrics.
• Ability to read and interpret part drawings and assembly bills.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operations of a manufacturing area and support Supervisors with daily management.
• Lead pre-shift safety and training meetings and ensure daily accountability for safety processes.
• Prioritize daily tasks to meet quality and production goals/schedules.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent repeats.
• Maintain and communicate manufacturing metrics using Gemba board and team huddles.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Materials, and Maintenance to maximize efficiency.
• Read drawings, BOMs, and ensure processes meet specifications.
• Escalate issues following company policy and support shift handovers.
