Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation is seeking a Team Lead for our manufacturing operations in the Columbia, SC area. This position will coordinate a manufacturing area, lead daily operations, and work with Supervisors to ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost targets are met.

The role requires a minimum of three years in manufacturing, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to multi-task and lead teams. Proficiency with SAP and MS Office is preferred, and overtime may be required.

• Minimum of three years of manufacturing industry experience
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
• Strong safety record and adherence to policies
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills to maintain operations

Responsibilities

• Coordinate operations of a manufacturing area to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics
• Lead pre-shift safety and training meetings
• Prioritize daily tasks with supervisors to meet production goals
• Maintain and communicate manufacturing metrics and 5S activities
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and HR teams
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and CI efforts
• Assist with new product launches and cross-training
• Escalate issues per escalation policy as needed
• May rotate to support other departments as business needs require
