STEEL TOOL & ENGINEERING CO. is seeking a dedicated manufacturing leader to supervise a full-time day shift in Trenton, MI.

You will ensure machine readiness, staffing alignment, and adherence to standard work while driving safety, quality, and productivity on the 6:00am-4:30pm schedule. As a floor lead, you will coach operators, monitor hourly output, scrap, downtime, and quality, and escalate issues with Quality, Maintenance, and Supervisors.

Qualificações

• Minimum 2+ years in manufacturing (steel, machining, tooling, or related).
• Prior leadership or lead-operator experience strongly preferred.
• Lean: 5S, standard work, waste reduction.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs; shop-floor setting.
• Basic computer skills for production reporting, email, and ERP entry.

Responsabilidades

• Daily planning: review schedules/attainment, staffing, machine readiness, materials, and tooling.
• Team alignment: run start-of-shift huddles; assign stations; clarify priorities and expectations.
• Floor leadership: observe operations; confirm adherence to standard work; coach and train.
• Performance tracking: monitor hourly output, scrap, downtime, and quality.
• Issue management: resolve minor concerns immediately; elevate major ones rapidly.
• Cross-functional communication: work closely with Quality, Maintenance, and Supervisors.
• Safety stewardship: enforce PPE and company policies at all times.
• Shift closure: document results, downtime, quality, and safety notes; communicate to the next shift/supervisor.
• Continuous improvement: identify opportunities; support Kaizen, A3s, and SMART goals.
